BlackBook - Friday, 21 May 2021

Please see below for our #BlackBook runner comments for Friday, 21 May 2021.The runner's highlighted are our #BlackBook runners (the key runners of focus), while those included in the 'other' section of each race are additional runner's that have jumped out well enough to be worth noting.

GEELONG - RACE 1

OTHER

#4 SEONEE looks to go alright. The 2yo filly was 3-4L off the leaders around the bend in Heat 8 (green) but showed an impressive turn of foot to come down the middle of the track and win. It was a really nice turn of foot that caught the eye as one to keep in mind as she heads towards a debut. If we see another jump out like this, she’ll be a must back on debut.

A nice win in Heat 9 for #6 SISTINE EXPLORER in nice time for her first jump out. One worth following for another jump out.

#7 STARSELLA is a half to Eau Chaude (previously Hot Water) and was 2nd on May 13 to Eclair Sunrise (who came out and won by 1.8L).

GEELONG - RACE 2

OTHER

#1 ALMSGIVER looked quite handy when closing well in Heat 12 to finish 3rd over 1000m to a race fit Moonlight Maid. The un-raced 3yo gelding didn’t look out of place and looked like he had a bit more to give late in a field that included some nice previous winners. Only his first jump out, so one we will be watching for.

Only had the one jump out prior to debut. Expecting improvement.

GEELONG - RACE 4

OTHER

#7 GOLDEN FOURTH was settled clearly back in Heat 9 but really worked her way into it and once she did get going, she made up a fair bit of ground late and hit the line hard. Following 2x runs over 1400m and an 11-week let up, she might be better suited over a mile.

GEELONG - RACE 5

OTHER

#9 LOBSTER NOODLES bolted in Heat 8, winning by a huge margin in nice time as well.

CRANBOURNE - RACE 1

#3 MIDWEST (2) - A & S Freedman

JENNIFERWISH looks like a 2yo filly with some talent, finishing just ahead of MIDWEST with a big gap to 3rd in Heat 15 on Apr 14. Both these gallopers took up the lead and were clearly a class above and want to follow both of them. MIDWEST is also quite handy and his form reads alright now. His debut was in a handy race in the lead up to the Blue Diamond, won by General Beau before finishing 3rd second up to the smart Tycoon Humma (won next start) and Frostin’ (won next start by 2.2L at $1.95) with a 3.25L gap to 4th.
